Gigantamax is only available to a few Pokemon, and they can be caught in some areas where Pokemon dens exist.

To help new Pokemon Sword and Shield players, here’s a complete list of Gigantamax locations so that you can locate the Pokemon with your desired Gigantamax form.

Keep in mind that these Pokemon dens will not always spawn a Pokemon. It all depends on spawn rates and other things.

The best trick here is keeping tabs on any Gigantamax events where the spawn rates will increase.

Good luck when it comes to catching these Pokemon and more. Plus, Pokemon that have Gigantamax will have a G-Max move that can be used during battles.

Editor’s Update (September 2024): Powering up your Pokemon through the Gigantamax phenomenon is an efficient way to best all the other trainers in Galar. Here is a list containing all possible locations of Gigantamax Pokemon.

In Closing

Now that you have an idea of the different Gigantamax locations in Sword and Shield, why don’t you start hunting them?

Granted, the encounter rates are low; that’s part of the allure and challenge if you finally catch one or all of them.

Catching all of them can be tricky since some are limited until Nintendo decides to release them. Perhaps in the future, Nintendo will continue ing this game, releasing future DLCs.

Those DLCs could contain more Gigantamax forms if they want to. We’ll update the list if that ever happens. But as of now, that doesn’t seem to be the case which isn’t that bad.
