What Are Natures in Pokemon?
Before we get into doing Nature changes in Unbound, let’s review what Natures are first.
Every Pokemon has a Nature or trait that alters its stat growth.
For example:
- Adamant Nature: Boosts Attack but lowers Special Attack
- Timid Nature: Increases Speed but decreases Attack
- Bold Nature: Increases Defense but lowers Attack
That’s why as a strong Trainer, you should choose the right Nature that’s suited for your Pokemon’s role.
For instance, sweepers should prioritize offense and speed, so it’s okay to lose a few points in defense. Meanwhile, walls should have high defensive stats and can afford to lose a few attack points.
Now you realize that your Pokemon doesn’t have an ideal Nature, how do you change it in Pokemon Unbound?
How to Change Nature in Pokemon Unbound
The best way to change your Pokemon’s Nature in Pokemon Unbound is through the scientist in Tehl Town.
After completing the mission Seasonal Research, he can change the Nature of your Pokemon for free.
After that, you can do this infinitely as long as you have money. I recommend doing this after you have Fly because it will make things much quicker.
Step 1: Get to Tehl Town

Tehl Town is located west of Fallshore City and south of Crater Town. This area is accessible after winning your third badge in Blizzard City.
To get to Tehl Town from Blizzard City, you need to have Rock Smash. Then go south via the KBT Expressway and emerge in Fallshore City.
On your first time here, you will see Jax fighting Ivory of the Shadow.
He will tell you about his job and the barrier on Route 9 and ask you for assistance. The gym leader in Fallshore City is out doing something, so you’d have to come back later.
You will be told to go to Route 10, but I always go to Route 11 first for the extra training. After that, head to Epidimy Town and pick up Strength HM from the first house.
After that, head back to Fallshore City all the way to Route 11, and find your way to Tehl Town. There are tons of missions along the way, so make sure to pick them up for some awesome rewards.
Step 2: Find the Scientist

In Tehl Town, there is a house where Professor Log’s scientists live. It is located on the lower west side of town.
This is where you can find the Dowsing Machine (given by the female scientist) and the male scientist who can change your Pokemon’s Nature in Unbound.
The scientist will ask you to go on a mission for his research, where you need to show him all seasonal forms of Deerling and evolve them into Sawsbuck.
Once you have accepted the mission, it’s time for some grinding.
Step 3: Catch all Deerling Forms

Sawsbuck is not capturable in the wild, but its pre-evolved form Deerling is. They have four seasonal forms in total: Spring, Summer, Winter, and Autumn.
Spring can be caught on Route 6, Summer form is found on Route 12, Autumn is on Route 9, and the Winter Form can be captured on Route 8.
Using Fly can make the catch much easier without having to travel too far. , you need to have all four seasonal forms.
Deerlings can be found in tall grass and are pretty easy to capture. But the hard part comes next.
Step 4: Evolve into Sawsbuck

Talk to the scientist again and he will ask you to show him the evolved forms of these Deerlings. They evolve into Sawsbuck at Level 34, so it can be quite the grind.
My go-to method for leveling up these Pokemon is the Day Care Center.
I leave two at the daycare, bring the other two, and level them up in Victory Road. This way, I evolve them much quicker and more efficiently.
You can copy this method for a time-saving shortcut.
Step 5: Change Your Pokemon’s Nature

Once you have all four forms of Sawsbuck, you can go back to Tehl Town and talk to the scientist again.
He will then offer to change the Nature of one of your Pokemon for free. You can choose any of your Pokemon and any Nature.
After that, you can go back to change Natures, but it will cost you 50,000 Poke Dollars to do so. You only have to show him the Sawsbuck once.
Conclusion
Now you know how to change Nature in Pokemon Unbound. The scientist’s request may be a bit complicated and tiring.
But, with this method, you can bring the best out of your Pokemon and create a more reliable partner for battles to come.
